“One thing that sparked my interest was the under-section of a bridge I biked past each day. If I went by at a certain time of day, the sunlight would be bouncing off the creek’s surface and projecting a moving liquid-light pattern onto the underbelly of the bridge. I borrowed a camera and spent some time filming the water and its reflections. I was transfixed by the formal qualities of filming the water up close and felt the variety of surfaces to be endless within such small areas of the creek.

Hoping to achieve a similar sense of awe and mystery, reminiscent of my original encounters with the dappled light on the bridge, along with my more recent experience of becoming lost in the mesmerizing currents of its liquid textures, I envisioned a long narrow projection on multiple walls in which it looked as if the water was flowing out of the corners of the room.”
